For the last little while now I’ve been working closely with my friends Michael Nyarkoh, Erixon Bernardo, and my boyfriend Justin Escutin to help develop their up-and-coming menswear brand +Wolfe. I asked Michael to write my blog post because I’m too busy to do it myself:

Wha gwan yutes and waste mans. It’s ya girl B Major AKA BLANCO KILLAH AKA YUNG MEAN MUGGIN QUEEN OF THE GUTTA. I just came back from stuntin’ on the yung hoes and crushing like 3 whole spreads via some herb ass’ tumblrs. Like this is how I live nah mean. Toronto Fashion Week came to a close on Friday last week and I can’t be more happy about that. Don’t get me wrong, the shows were great, and the open bar and little sandwiches on platters were too, but I was getting a tad exhausted from trying to balance all of the events with school and various other projects.

My absolute favourite shows from the entire week happened on the final day – UNTTLD and VAWK. I’m so, so, so impressed with the former because they’re a relatively new brand. They won the first Mercedes Benz Start-Up competition back in March and were essentially given this fully sponsored runway show for being so damn awesome. I can’t even explain how good it was. Photos of the garments can’t even explain how good it was. UNTTLD set an atmosphere with the opening fashion film and built all the garments based on that feeling. IT WAS SO GOOD!!! You can read my summary of the day here, my round-ups of the best looks here, and the worst ones here.

Another super interesting tidbit from the last day of Fashion Week is Express’s attempt to penetrate Canada’s fashion scene. I had the pleasure of previewing the holiday and spring/summer 2013 collections prior to the show, and although Express usually isn’t my style (it’s for more confident women who have body types worth showcasing), I got to take home a few garments and accessories I’m in love with. One of them is a pair of studded leather gloves! I’ll probably be popping into the new Eaton Centre location once it opens up on November 21st, and all my Torontonian readers should do the same.

Lastly, I’ll talk about my outfit, which I’ve worn probably five times in the past but is so fun I couldn’t not wear it to Fashion Week. Don’t mess with what works, right? I pretty much just threw on everything I own that’s blue and silver, and posed up all sassy.

WELL that’s that. Let me just go hibernate for like two weeks. Bye!
