Coat: Wilfred via Aritzia (buy similar here)
Shoes: Trippen (a gift from my boyfriend!)
Necklace: Vintage via Magwood

Remember how I blogged about the shoes I bought my boyfriend for Christmas? Well, he bought me a pair of shoes I’ve been eyeing for a whole year – and managed to convince me to do an early tradesies sans gift wrapping and all that fun stuff. I know it sounds bad, but look how beautifully weird these Trippens are!!! I’ll be wearing them religiously for the next few years of my life, mark my words.

SHOP THE LOOK:

Oh hey, fancy meeting you here. Do you come here often? Probably not, I only just started posting again! Ha-ha I am so comical. Anyway, it’s pretty much Christmas break so I am FREE from the stresses of classes and PRISONER to the stresses of work, writing, photography, blogging, and design!!! Those are my favourite things.

Anyway, if you’ve been around these parts at all, you’ll have noticed that I’ve already done not one but two #MarcTheDot x Lookbook.nu collaboration posts over the past few months. This is my final look, and probably my favourite one, too! Unfortunately for me, I’ll never get to actually wear this outside of my living quarters. The top is not really the most practical thing ever; it’s thrown together using tin foil and scotch tape. Maybe one day I will have the time to purchase real sequins to sew on a mesh tank, but we all know this is never going to happen. I have so many DIY ideas dancing around in my head that they can do one of those fun flash mobs amidst the other busy thoughts in there. What am I even talking about right now?

Moving forward. I paired it with a new pair of shorts I got at Aritzia, and a lazy cardigan my boyfriend bought me at American Apparel. I’m also wearing my favourite boots of all time, soon to be replaced by the three new pairs of shoes I got at the Solestruck sale!!! I am being so bad with my money lately. But it’s the Holidays, so I am allowed.

Looking back on this post I’m realizing I’m the most scatter-brained person on the face of the planet. Just kidding, there are probably people worse than me. God bless their souls.

Toronto Fashion Week s/s 2013 – Day 1

Monday, October 22nd, 2012

Gold velvet dress: c/o Magwood
Black shawl: American Apparel
Blue mink collar: Vintage
Black knee-high boots: Nine West
Bracelets: c/o Vanessa Mooney and Magwood
Clear purse: Vintage

It’s the first day of Toronto Fashion Week showing collections for spring/summer 2013! Toronto Fashion Week in general is supposed to have been upgraded due to the fact that IMG recently bought it (IMG runs all the major fashion weeks including New York and Milan), but I’m assuming autumn/winter 2013 will be closer to the full-fledged Toronto Fashion Week experience. Still, I’m beyond excited to be there – it’s the first time I’ll be attending pretty much every single show. Tonight is Holt Renfrew and Pink Tartan’s runway, which I’ll be covering for blogTO, so check those posts out tomorrow!

Here’s what I’ll be wearing. I got this beautiful silk slip from Magwood a while ago but haven’t had a chance to wear it… until now. And what perfect time to bring on the gold and black than during a fashion week smack in the middle of the baroque trend?! Man, I am so cool (but only this week).
