I’m not sure if you guys noticed how much of a texture/print mixing fiend I have become recently. Blame it on the runway. The one thing I’ve learned is to stay more or less in the same colour story in order to avoid looking like an eclectic mess. Another thing that helps is a solid neutral to break things up a bit.
In this outfit I got a little messy with the snakeskin, stripes, and sequins all at once so I threw on this light jacket sent to me by Jovonna London. All of their pieces are on-trend and generally easy to wear. Plus, shop online with the discount code “jovloves” for 20% off your purchase! This particular jacket I see myself wearing a hell of a lot during my transition into fall. Remember my olive green rain coat that I wore pretty much every day? This is the new olive green rain coat.
I also would like to call attention to my amazing new(ish) shoes and jewelry! My necklace, courtesy of the incredibly sweet people at Vanessa Mooney, has already been worn a ton of times. It’s almost as loud as a statement necklace, but still delicate and wearable. My shoes, on the other hand, are super attention-grabbing. The python print, sharply cut heel, and horse hoof-like body are what made me fell in love as soon as I saw them on sale at Piperlime. They’re also incredibly comfortable, and are without a doubt taking the place of my Jeffrey Campbell Litas (which by the way, I am interested in selling to any willing size 6 Toronto gal).
What are your texture/print mixing tips?
